Safety
Safety is vital in the gases industry and to ganrentee gas cylinder safety we provide all our staff with regular training on product knowledge and inspection methods. This is assessed and independently audited by UKAS during our annual surveillance visits. To ensure complete compliance with health and safety legislation we perform regular risk assessments, safety audits and participate on a number of specialist industrial committees.
New European Regulations (EN 1089-3) govering the colour coding of transportable gas cylinders are due to come into force across europe. These new regulations will replace the old UK standard BS 349 colour scheme. The new system is based on providing a European wide conformity on colours for the shoulder of a cylinder this will be particularly valuable in identifying cylinders in an emergency situation when the cylinder label is not clearly visible.

The testing, transporting and filling of gas cylinders is regulated by the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road Regulations 2004 which implements the requirements of the ADR.
